In anticipation of the holiday, the Federal Government has declared Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18, 2024, as public holidays. The Ministry of Interior's Permanent Secretary, Dr. Aishetu Ndayako, conveyed Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo’s congratulations to Muslims in Nigeria and abroad, urging them to embody the values of peace, kindness, and sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

The minister reiterated the administration's commitment to protecting the lives and property of Nigerians and called for unity and support for the president's efforts to diversify the economy and accelerate economic recovery. As Nigerians celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, they are encouraged to take an active role in building a prosperous future for the nation.
